Our Koala's need our help, did you know that it takes 1000 Eucalyptus Trees to feed 1 Koala for a year. At Dragonfly Naturals we are proud to support this worthy cause. We are happy to jump on board & donate to Currumbin Wildlife Hospital Foundation's Tree for me program & will donate 1 tree for every Australian Aromatherapy Gift Set sold.

It is so important that we support our native animals so they will be around for future generations.

Aussie Fun Facts

KoalaThere are over 600 types of Eucalyptus trees in Australia, but Koala's generally only have two or three favourites they eat.

KangarooMale Kangaroo's fight to decide who is dominant & to win the female. A Kangaroo will use its strong tail to balance allowing it to use both hind legs to kick its opponent. It will also use its front paws to wrestle giving the impression of a boxing Kangaroo.

EmuAn Emu has wings but it can't fly, they use their wings to cool off & to help it to steer when running at full speed. Emus also have two sets of eyelids, one for keeping the dust out while the other is used for blinking.

DingoDingoes don't bark, they howl & a dingo can turn it's head 180 degrees which helps them to look and hunt for prey.

KookaburraThe Kookaburra is the largest in the Kingfisher family & its koo-koo-koo-kaa-kaa-kaa is sung in chorus with other Kookaburra's. The cackle sound it makes is a territorial warning for other birds.

PelicanCan a Pelican's bills hold more than his belly can? Yes! While his bill can hold around just over 11 liters his stomach can only hold just under 4 liters.

PlatypusA Platypus uses its bill to see underwater & this semi-aquatic mammal is unique only to Australia

Sugar GliderGlider Possum's have a gliding membrane, which is a thin sheet of skin that stretches between its ankles & fore-paws allowing it to glide from tree to tree. Sugar & Squirrel Gliders may reach around 30 meters, while the Yellow-bellied Glider may reach a distance of up to 140 meters in one leap.

PossumPossums are nocturnal & are mainly herbivores eating Eucalyptus & other leaves. Occasionally they will eat fruit, flowers and nectar.

Salt Water CrocodileSaltwater Crocodiles sleep with one eye open, they are as old as the dinosaurs. They are cold blooded and, the can only eat above water.
